Denvhy, pre-i--ifent of the Raila ay Office;» Institute, outlining claims tor the first division, said what he asked tor the rutlowing maximums: —Or adv 1, £671); grade 2, £570; grade 3, £520; grade 4, £470; grade 5. £420; grade 6, £.J»>O ; grade 7. £.<25, caiDt £l.O Lodging allow antes was also asked for as lotlows. —For cadets, sub-grade 1, 15 -. sub-grade 2, 12 - per week; sub-grade A, 9 - per week. A minimum pay ot £240 per year tor married men was requested, and that tfie maximum scale for casual clerks be the maximum for grade 7, viz., £212.5 a jear.
