INCREASED RATES OF PAY. Auckland, Jan. 6. Auckland watersiders to-day at a stop-work meeting had read the resolution adopted at the Dominion Conference held at Napier which included proposals for representation on Harbour Boards with a view to eventual control of stevedoring and the inclusion of the Railway Department in future agreement into preference to members of the Federation. The Conference decided to ask for flat rate increase on existing rates at all ports and sixpence an hour increase on all classes of work : treble overtime for Sundays, Christinas Day, Good Friday; double rate for all overtime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. and treble rate thereafter; when men work part of'an hour full hour to be paid for. For ordinary overtime Conference asks for an increase of sixpence an hour on present rates.
