TAKES LONG HOLIDAY. CABINET REORGANISED. New York, Jan. 2. The “New York Times’ ” Ottawa correspondent says that prior to leaving on long vacation, Sir Robt. L. Borden announced that Sir George Foster, senior member of the Privy Council. will be Acting-Premies. Major-General Newborn has resigned as Minister of Defence. Mr Sifton has retired as Minister for Public Works and become Secretary for State. Mr Martin Burrell, who was formerly Secretary of State, becomes Minister of' Customs. —(A. and N.Z.)
