A NEW YEAR MESSAGE.

CHRISTIANITY THE WAY TO PEACE. London, Jan. 2. A New Year message from the Premiers of the British Commo*wealth has been issued over the signatures of Mr. Lloyd George, Sir Robert Borden, Mr. Hughes, Mr. Massey and General Smuts and is addressed to their fellow-citizens o* the British Empire. The message emphasises the recognition of the fatherhood of God and the Divine purpose for the world which is the central message of Christianity. This will be discovered to be the ultimate foundation for the recognition of an ordered, harmonious life for all men. That recognition can only come as an aet of free sent on the part of individual men everywhere. The message appeals to men willing to consider the eternal validity of the truth of those spiritual forces which are the one and only hope for a permanent foundation of world peace.—(A. and N.Z.)
