A cable message from Sydney last w«w»lr announced that an, amalgamation of interests involving the investment of a capital of considerably over £1,000,000, had been arranged. Tbe firms concerned are the -Australasian Films, Ltd., the L nion Theatre Ltd., on the one part and Electra Theatres Ltd., incorporating J. C. Williamson Films Ltd. on the other part. The firms constituting the proprietaries of Australasian Filins Ltd. and Union Theatre Ltd. are Amalgamated Pictures, Ltd., JD. Williams Great Amusement Company, Ltd., Spencer’s, Ltd., ana West’s, Ltd., and the operations of the new amalgamated interests win eartend all over Australia.
