TO STOP STRIKES.
COURT OF INQUIRY. TO CONSIDER DOCKERS’ DEMANDS. London, Dec. 31. The Transport Workers’ Union has accepted the employers’ offer oi » Court of Inquiry for tne investigation of the dockers’ claim for 16/- a day as the minimum wage. The Court will consist of three employers, three workers, and an independent chairman. . It is hoped thus to prevent a strike of 150,000 men. Sir R. S. Horne, Minister for Labour, and also the Parliamentary Committee of the Trade Union Con. gross, have intervened in the ironmoulders’ strike, and hope to reach a settlement.
