Brigadier-General Dickson’s c&reer furnishes one of the most remarkable instances of rapid promotion during the war. Aft sr the Beer campaign Private Dickson went to Rhodesia and took up farming and mining, but happening to be in England in 1914 he joined up, and was given a commission in the Motor Transport A.S.C. He was sent to Mesopotamia. In twelve months he was colonel, and some 18 months ago was promoted brigadier-general. He was engaged repeatedly on confidential work of great importance, having to go into Persia and Arabia- to make reports to his commanding officer. He is a son of Mrs. Dickson, of Bloomfield avenue, Bath.
