I WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28. (Before Messrs G. AV. Venables and J. S. Large, J’s.P.) DESERTERS. Edward Charles Smith and Robert Shelford, who appeared to answer a charge of deserting a home liner at Wellington recently were remanded to appeal* at that city on Monday next. ASSAULT. Percy Holland, charged with assaulting Tom Young (a Chinaman) by striking him with his fists, was also remanded till Monday for further evidence. CIVIL BUSINESS. In a civil sitting in which the Napier Harbour Board were the only plaintiffs concerned, judgment was given against defendants as follow : — Napier Harbour Board v.
