Dunedin, Nov. 28. The Otago Summer Show opened to-day in good weather.’ The en- , tries were good though less than last year. The quality was well up to the usual standard, especially’ Shorthorn cattle and breeding Clydesdales. Competition in sheep was '■ somewhat restricted. Some very fine '.poung Clydesdales were shown. The following championships were award--led :—Clydesdale mare, H. M atson, Taitapu; cattle: Channel Island bul and cow, T. Helleyer, N ortheast !Harbour; Shorthorn bull and cow, J. Nixon, Killinchy; Ayrshire bull and cow, Weir Bros., Pukehiki; Friesian bull and cow, A. Elworthy, Timaru : fat cattle, P. Clent, Balchitha. fjhi-ep: Shropshires, ewe, W. Gardiner, jun., Papakaio; Border Leicesters, ram and ewe, T. S. Little, Windsor; Romney’ Marsh, ram and ewe, D. Murray, Clydesdale.
