THE RETURNED MEN

(Parliamentary Correspondent). Wellington, Aug. 17. The Hon. James Allen stated in the House yesterday afternoon that the toal number of men returned from the front up to July 31, was 10,917. Of these t 9,265 had received their discharge, 1244 had returned to duty, 48 had died, 119 were awaiting final disposal, 216 are under treatment, 19 are on special leave, four had deserted and two were in prison.
