SALE OF LIQUOR RESTRICTION

ACTING-PREMIER DEPUTATIONISED. [FEB PKESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, May 4. Two deputations, one representing citizens and the other the clergy of nonAnglican churches, waited on Sir James Allan to-day and made strong representation on six o’clock closing. Sir James Allen said that he was much impressed with the views expressed and would place the matter at the earliest possible moment before Cabinet, who were divided on the matter. Sir James Allen made it quite clear that the Government would tolerate no discrimination on the liquor question between soldiers and civilians.
