IMPORTANT INDUSTRY INAUGURATED. Hokitika, Oct. 18. The Westland Land Board to-day confirmed the grant of a lease and reservations over 30,000 acres ot bush land to the New Zr?aland Wood Pulp Manufacturing Co. The company has a water right over 300 Government heads to generate the necessary power. Also further bush reserves totalling 30,000 acres have been set aside loy the Government for the purposes of the industry. The company is increasing its capital to £200,000, and purpose to commence operations in the near future in the vicinity of Otira. [The timber the company will utilise for the manfacture of wood pulp is Makomako, Komahe, mountain birch, red pine and white pine. The works will be established a few miles west of the Otira tunnel. ]
