BREACH OF WAR REGULATIONS.

Wellington, Oct. 17. John Levy, shipping reporter to the “New Zealand Times,” was charged in the Magistrate’s Court with communicating to Thos Harry Cruedley, information as to the strength of His Majesty’s naval forces, contrary to the War Regulations Act. Cruedley, Marine Superintendent of the Shaw, Savill Coy., gave evidence that Levy read to him and Mr. Bevan a letter giving a description of Great Britain’s naval armaments. Some of the information was afterwards published in the newspapers. The hearing of the case is proceeding.
