A German fleet, consisting c>i nine battleships, 12 cruisers, and a large number of destroyers made persistent attacks at the entrance tn the Gulf of Riga. They were repulsed everywhere. Our seaplanes throwing bombs contributed to our success. Our mines damaged an enemy cruiser and two destroyers. OFFICIAL.—The German fleet yesterday appeared off Dirben Channel, at the entrance to the Gulf of Riga, evidently intending to break the mine barrier which our fleet is protecting. The attacks were repulsed, the enemy losing three ships damaged bv our mine-'. Our losses were nil.
