SWITZERLAND.
TRUTH LEARNED ABOUT GERMANY [“TIMES” AND “SYDNEY BUN” BEBVIC».\ (Received Ift, ft.O a.m.) London, March 18. “The Times’ ” Swiss correspondent says that at the commencement of the war the Swiss were inclined to favour Germany, as they speak a common language and have German blood in their veins, and German clothes on their backs. They use German coal stoves, Germans are proprietors of their shops, thejr have German professors in their universities, German kultur is in their minds, and German money and brains in their newspapers, but when the Swiss saw that Germany was not winning and would perhaps be defeated, a revulsion of feeling set in, beginning with the recent deception in the matter of news of German origin, and misrepresentation regarding the violation of Belgium. They have learned the truth about German atrocities and the falsity of the reports of German victories. They also realise that German competition is seriously threatening Swiss economic independence.
