IMPORTANT TO BANDSMEN. The most proficient bandsmen always choo-e the best instruments. And the band composed of players who use the beet instruments secures honours, prizes and engagements. Take for example the Roval Artillery Band, which proved a triumphant success at the Auckland Exhibition. Its excellent tone was in great measure due to the “Hawkes” Excelsior Sonorous Instruments used. Then again, the Irwell Springs Band, which won the World’s Championship in 1913 at Crystal Palace.
