The fortnight iy meeting of the Loya! Ha-ting- Lodge. 1.0.0. I M.U.. was i:< :■! ;n the ( )■'dfei ~ Hall last evening. B'o T. F. Seoti. X.G.. presiding ..ver n fair attend ance. Lour candidates were initiat ed and four nine's ptoposed. A let ter of recommendation was received from the Wanganui Lodge on behalf of Bro. W. J. Tinline. and one granted to P.G. Bro. M . E. 1-arr.ng ton. of the Hastings Lodge.
An invitation was received from the Loyal Napier Lodge to attend .. social on the 7th prox.. hut as this falls on the ladies’ night already arranged. the secretary was instructed to express regret tint the lodge could not be represented thereat. Various declarations on the funds were announced, and the lodge ex pressed its sympathy wit it I>ro. J. F. Sturm, now in the Napier Hospital, as the result of a serious accident. P.G. Bro. W. E. Farington resign cd his appointment as caretaker owing i o prospect ia e change of occupation. anti («.M. Bro. A. Hale was elected to the vacancy thus caused. The members expressed appreciation of Bro. Farrington s services, and a motion in support thereof wa- entered on the minutes. The Protestant Alliance forward ed tickets for their annual dance to he held shortly. and E.S. Bro. A. Davidson wa< appointed to represent the lodge. At the conclusion of the < rdimry meeting, the special ccmmittee appointed to arrange for the lad’es' night made final art alignments there for.
