MOTOR VICTIM’S DEATH

New Plymouth, March 14

Mr. Norman Bewley, whose leg was amputated last night as the result of the motor accident died this morning.

OLD MAN KILLED

Christchurch, March 14

Mr. John Norrie, aged 80 years, was killed at Kaikowa last night. He was staying at the Commercial Hotel, sleeping in a room on the upper floor. He heard his sen’s voice in the street below, opened the window and leaning out lost his balance, failing to the ground. Norrie came from Balclutha.

OLD MINER BURNT

Hokitika, March 14.

Albert Critchell, aged 74, an old pioneer miner, was burnt to death at two o’clock this morning through his hut at Rimu catching fire. His arms and legs had been burnt off when he was found.
