LONDON BUTTER MARKET.
TOOLEY STREET TRADERS
(Received 14, 11.5 a.m.) London, March 13.
Sir George Reid received six Tooley street agents selling cooperative societies’ butter, who emphatically denied that they fixed prices to suit one another, and handed in a statutory declaration to that effect. Sir George Reid cabled to Mr Thomas asking him to publish them. He suggests that if the co-operative societies are unwilling to join in a thorough inquiry into the existing methods, he should be authorised to appoint an impartial commissioner to make inquiry.
