N.S.W. FLOCKS AND HERDS.
DEPLETED BY DROUGHT. Sydney, March 11. The stock inspectors’ reports indicate that last year’s drought seriously affected the State’s flocks and herds. The estimate at the end of 1912 is as follows : —Sheep 6,000,000, cattle over 250,000, horses 11,000 less than at the end of the previous year. Saturday’s storm caused a great mortality. The drought had weakened the dairy herds in the south coast districts.
