FEMALE IMMIGRATION.
EXODUS CAUSES ANXIETY.
London, March 11
The Duke of Marlborough presided over the British Women’s Emigration Association. He said that something like 300,000 women had emigrated from Great Britain last year. The exodus from the countryside was causing statesmen anxiety. Sir J. G. Ward said that New Zealand could take 10,000 of the surplus women of Great Britain. All were certain of good employment.

I The “Daily Express,” with thd| view of ' demonstrating the advantages of emigration. to Australia, offers to pay the passages of five unmarried men and five domestics, Sir George Reid promising them employment. The offer is the result of the “Daily Express”, receiving a thousand letters on the subject since New Year.
