BUSH SICKNESS.
GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATIONS. "Wellington, July 13. For mure than a y ear the Department of Agriculture has been engaged in experiments to discover the cause of bush sickness, a disease affecting cattle in certain districts of the northern portion of the North Island,. The first portion of the investigations made have been of a nature to induce the belief that the cause of the malady has been ascertained ,and in order to allow further practical experiments. Cabinet is considering a proposal to acquire an area of 3eu acres at Mamaku, 12 miles from Rotorua, in the centre of the affected district.
