Mr. Lloyd George, in a letter to a medical correspondent .said the dvctors’ cordial co-opei ation was necessary to obtain the best lesults from rhe Insurance Act. The Goveinni’-nt were prepared to do their utmost io secure that co-cperation. and invited the British Medical Association further to negotiate on the matter.

Fifteen Liberal Commoners fearing the result of splitting the progressive forces .urged the Master of Elibank to recommend the Hanley Liberals to stand aside end support the Labour candidate in the interests of the Government’s important legislative programme. The Master of Elibank refused, saying that he was merely confirming the free decision of the Liberal organisation to contest a seat whose representative from 1906 to 1910 had accepted the Liberal whip.
