NAPIER. According to the report, the month has not been one of marked activity. In the skilled trades matters are fairly satisfactory, but unskilled labourers are advised to make careful inquiries before venturing to the district. HASTINGS. The condition of affairs at Hast- ; ings is more encouraging. Skilled I trades occupv a somewhat normal position, and the condition of the unskilled labour market is favourable for this season of the year.
