Reuter’s Cairo correspondent reports that a crowded ferry steamer sunk in the Nile at midnight, and it is believed that two hundred people were drowned. DETAILS OF THE COLLISION'. CAIRO PLUNGED INTO MOURNING. (Received 10, 10.55 a.m.) Cairo. April 9. An excursion steamer with 300 persons aboard collided with another steamer. The latter saved many of the excursion steamer’s passengers hut many were drowned. Seventeen bodies have already been recovered. The city has- been plunged into mourning.
