The prizes to be given at the Waipukurau Jockey Club’s meeting on Easter Monday in the. Ladies’ Handicap are now on view in Napier. The first prize is a Rotherham halfhunting level' watch mounted on a 15 carat sapphire and diamond loop design bangle \ allied at £3O. The second prize is an 18 carat half-hunting lever watch mounted on a basket pattern olivine bracelet valued at £2O. No wonder the club was favoured with a record entry in this particular race, for the prizes are both useful and very handsome. Year by y r ear the Ladies’ Handicap has been increasing in popularity and to-day (outside the big handicap) this race is the star attraction of the gathering.
