RUMOURS OF SALE TO A SYNDICATE. (Received 3, 8.5 a.m.) London, April 2. The “Shipping Gazette” mentions u rumour of a syndicate interested in the Australian and New Zealand trade negotiating for the purchase of the Union Steamship Company. THE RUMOUR DENIED. Dunedin, April 3. The Union Company authorises the “Star” to state that they know nothing of the “Shipping Gazette” story of a London syndicate being in negotiation for the purchase of the company.
