KING GEORGE’S RETURN.
LONDON’S WELCOME. (Received 7. 1 10.15 a.m.) London, Feb. 6. The morning was foggy and the ice was thawing when large crowds welcomed the King and Queen. Queen Alexandra and Captains or the escc-rt were accorded an ovation as they preceded Their Majesties. The King wore a field marshal’s uniform and the Queen heavy sable?. They rode in an open carriage accompanied by the Prince of Wall s and the Princess Mary. Troops lined the street. , The Lord Mayor and Sheriffs met Their Majesties at Temple Bar. . At the Thanksgiving Service the congregation numbered 5000, inelufling twenty bishops, military an i naval officers. Parliamentarians, High Commissioners and Agents(Jcneral, Ambassadors, and 250 of rhe Medina’s crew.
The majority of the ladies were in black.
The Primate conducted an impressive service.
Crowds afterwards demonstrated at £he Palace. Their Majesties acknowledging from tlie balcony.
Similar services were held in the provinces and at Belfast.
