INTENSE COLD.

THERMOMETER DOWN TO ZERO. (Received 5, 8.50 a.m.) London, Feb. 3. The cold is the most intense experienced for 17 years. The thermometer registered zero in Norfolk Roads. Tn the Midlands the roads are impassable. Schools are closed and telegraphs interrupted. PEOPLE FROZEN TO DEATH. St. Petersburg, Feb. 4. Eighteen persons have been frozen to death and thirty buried in the snow in the Isbina district.
