Through an accident during the launching of the cruiser Muenelicn’s boat at Kiel, seven bluejackets were drowned.*
FIRES ON FRENCH WARSHIPS
(Received 28, 8.30 a.m.) London, Oct. 27
Reuter’s Toulon correspondent reports that short circuits in the electrical installations of the warship Diderot. Justice, and a torpedo boat caused fires near the magazines. The disasters were averted by flooding the magazines.
PANIC-STRICKEN STOKERS
(Received 28, 9.30 a.m.) Paris, Oct. 27.
Five stokers on the battleship Justice were arrested because they became panic-stricken by a shortcircuit. They rushed on deck shouting “All save yourselves.”
