BIG PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAMME, (Received 15, 9.5 a.m.) Sydney, Sept. 15. Mr. Griffiths lias introduced Public Works proposals which include 36 schemes, including several railways. bridging the harbour, a central meat market, at Sydney, and a floating-dock for Newcastle, the total cost running into millions. AT WAR WITH THE SPEAKER. In the Assembly, under the Speaker’s new regime, motions dissenting with the ruling of the Chair were not allowed to appear on the business paper, Mr. Willis apparently regarding them as disorderly.
