GAS EXPLOSION.
SLEEPY BAKERS. (Received 23, 8.45 a.m.) Melbourne, June 23. A gas explosion at Conway’s bakery in Fitzroy wrecked the building. The windows were blown across the street, and adjoining houses damaged. Residents thinking it was an earthquake rushed into the road in their night attire. Curiously Conway and his wife, who were sleeping right over the centre of the* explosion, were unawakened, although a large hole was blown right under the bed.
