THE CORONATION.

The Wallasey (Lancashire) Coronation Committee has raised a storm of indignation in the borough by placing a contract for the supply of 11,750 souvenir mugs with a German firm. The mugs are for presentation to school children, and upwards of eighty samples were inspected, the majority being of British make. The German price was 3/6 per dozen, and the nearest approach in point of quality said to have been supplied by an English firm was 5/11. A local employer has urged his men to tell their children to smash their mugs, and has promised to replace them with others made in England.
