HASTINGS HARMONIC CLUB.

The rehearsal of the Harmonic Club held last evening, was a most satisfactory one and showed in a remarkable degree the great advancement this musical organisation is making.

This session, the society has undertaken that entrancingly beautiful work of Coleridge Taylor, “ Hiawatha,” Part 1., “The Wedding Feast.”

The next concert will take place on Wednesday, Alay 31st, and this work will occupy about one half of the programme.

The other half will consist of items by leading soloists, and also several part songs by the Harmonic Club.

The part songs chosen this session by the conductor, are some of those which will be sung by the Sheffield Choir during its tour through New Zealand, and this should prove of much interest to music lovers who intend hearing the great Sheffield Choir, as they will have an opportunity of becoming acquainted with some of the mu sip which that famous body of singers intends putting before the New Zealand public.
