NAPIER CLUB.
During the past few days the members of the Napier Croquet Club have been engaged in a competition for two very handsome i leather bags presented by Airs. W. ■L. Sparkman. I The A players completed their ; gaines on Friday afiernoon. Mrs. :W. Frazer defeating Mrs. Martin in the final after a. very Hose ami (exciting game. The B players played yesterday, when Airs. D. F. Smart won the trophy. Airs. Martin w-on the trophy pre-' sented by Air. P. B-*ar. She hand-! cd it back for competition among the B players, and it was won by; Airs. D. L. Smart. I The thanks of the club are due! to the donors of the trophies, the rivalry for the possession of which had given an added interest to the game. To-day the chib entertained the Bluff Hill club, when trophies presented by the lady members will be played for. Some keen games are expected. Play will commence at 10 o’clock, and luncheon and I afternoon tea will be provided ini the pavilion. I
