FEDERAL REFERENDA.

Sydney, April 25.

The final rallies took place tonight. The campaign has been strenuous and fervid. It is difficult to forecast the result, but the genera! feeling is that whichever way it goes, the majority will not be large. Probably a considerably bigger proportion than at election times, particularly of the women, will abstain from polling, as also will that section of the Labourites who. while opposed to lessening the powers possessed by the States, are not prepared to throw their weight into the opposite scale.

As usual, labour is excellently organised and confident. The Lil> erals have worked extremely hard, and believe with the majority of the newspapers that their side is able to carry the day against the referenda.
