Easter Stakes. —Jacamar 1. Borrosov 2, Ladies’ Man 3. Eight starters. A good finish resulted in Jacamar winning by three lengths. Time. Imin 3Osec.
Cumberland Stakes.—Trafalgar 1, Byplay 2. Comedy King 3. Won by a length and a quarter, ten lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 32^sec. City Handicap.—Aurofodina 1. Mil 2, Patronatus 3. Nineteen starters. Won by half a length. Patronatus a short length away. Time. 2inin sOjsec. The weather was bright, with a strong. col<l wind. The attendance was large. Trafalgar’s win was very popular.

Auckland, April 19. The necessary permission having been obtained from the Hon. D. Buddo, Minister of Internal Affairs, the committee of the Avondale Jockey Club have acceded to the request of the Citizens’ League and postponed the opening day’s racing of their autumn meeting till the 29th instant in oraer not to clash with the Municipal and Harbour Board elections. The following handicaps have been declared for the opening day :—
