KEEPING THE GAME RESPECTABLE. (Received 7. 8.50 a.m.) Melbourne, April 7. A meeting of members of the League and Association football clubs, discussing the management of football with the view of establishing the sport as a respectable game, resolved that two steps were immediately necessary to purify and maintain its prestige. They were the appointment of ore united governing body, and recognition legitimatising open payment of players. NORTHERN INION LEAGUE.
