TE POHUI.
(Own Correspondent.)
Te Pohui, Mar. 29.
Motorists are passing daily to; and from Taupo, loaded with fish. I ' Mr. Mat Johnstone, of Hastings, I and party called in yesterday with about a dozen good fish. Mr. W. H. Smith returned to Te Pohui to pick up his motor buggy, which broke an axle about a week ago on Titikura hill, which, although fine and dry, is being filled up by stripping to a height dangerous to the travelling public. We have been promised that tr»e deviation of this hill would be made before the winter, but still the work appears a long way off. The contractors are working overtime on the bridge for the Fairburn Timber Co., and it is to be hoped that the mill will be m full swing before the winter sets in. The spprts and sheep-dog trial conmittees are working hard to make each sport a success.
The visitors staying at the Lake Hotel are Mrs. Midgelay and Master Haldane. Mr and Mrs. Watson, and Miss Pilcher.
