THE RUTHER-LEBBER COMPANY.
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —To tell your honor the Cospel truth now I was just as glad so I was as if I had lost a sixpence and found a bob when 1 ketched up me “Tribyune” last night and clapped me eyes on that letter of “Mr. Shareholder’s.” Oh he is the rale gintieman , is “Mr. Shareholder,” for he jest tuk the wind out of me own sails he did, for its true for you says I to meself and “thems me own sintiments entirely.” But, bedad. I’m ahead of meself so I am. for there was just one thing that disagreed with me (no I’m wrong) I mean that I disagreed with, and it was just this. He said, he did, and he’s a mane spalpeen for saying it, that “no effort had been made to sell anything.” Begorra. to think of him saying that and wasn’t it meself as saw one «n the “amateurs,” as he calls them, trying for a whole hour, and doing his level best too, to sell a pair of them rubber heels to a Chinaman. Ah ! it’s a hard world this is too for there is mighty few in it ghes us credit for all we do or they to do. Och ! I’ve no toime for the likes of them as say that the Ruther-Lebber Company have not been trying to do business. Do they expect the manager and secretary anti all the other hands to be going all over the country to try to find buyers for their goods. Well, I never,, to think of such impidence. and there are stacks and piles of goods in the shed for them to come and buy if they want to. Bedad, and it’s meself would tell them all that I wouldn’t demean myself by going around the country trying to find the buyers, and if they didn’t like to come and find me they could go to Honnylulu, so they could. Well, the editor says I must shut down, as he can keep his shep waiting and pay for axle grease to please me or anyone else. But I’ll have more to say bye and bye.—l am. etc..
PaT O’BRIEN.
