BOXING.
PAPKE v. SMITH. The return battle between Dave Smith, the ex-Otagonian, and Billy Papke, of America, and exchampion middle-weight of the world, ended in a decisive win for the Yank in the seventh round. Files to hand show that, although beaten, Smith was by no means disgraced. He put up the pluckiest of battles, and although he proved by far the better boxer, had to succumb to the greater force and hitting power of his opponent.
