I under most ideal conditions throughout, and the day’s business has been heavier than usual, comprising the 800 yards of the Nelson match, the Canterbury match (800 yards), and loophole, moving target and sectional firing matches. J In addition to this long list an exit ra match was got off. The shootj ing .has been, on the whole, quite ’ in keeping with the meteorological | conditions, and although many 'failed to get reasonable scores, j others who, under the bad condiitions of the previous days, cracked hip, had their courage revived by i their to-day's performances. > During the afternoon Major--General Godley. accompanied by ■ Colonel Robin and Colonels Collins and Spencer-Smith, staff officer, visited the range and witnessed the firing. The following were the principal winners :—

Of 75 who won £l, no score was more than three short of the possible, and five 47’s were counted out. There were ten £1 and twenty 10;- prizes for tyros. LOOPHOLE MATCH. 500 yards ; 10 shots each.

Crimp (Dunedin), 10 hits and 3 bulls, £2'lo'-. Ryder (Hastings), 10 hits and 3 bulls, £2/10/-. Frank (Nelson), 10 hits and 1 bull, £2/10/-. Lane (Auckland), 10 hits and 1 bull, £2/10/-. Storkey (Napier), 9 hits and 4 bulls, £2. Farland (Christchurch), 9 hits an 1 2 bulls, £2. Willoughby (Wairarapa), 9 hits and 1 bull, £2.
Twenty-seven receive £1 each, eight JO/- each, and a number receive smaller amounts.
