Responding to the toast, i “The Visitors,” Mr. Simson said: —i “The district of x Poverty Bay is j second to none in the Dominion for the production of butter; but as far as I can see little has been done. You are practically married , to wool. The country I have seen , during the. past week is unsurpass- i able in New Zealand for the production of butter and cheese, and ; I regret to say it is somewhat ham- i pered for want of cattle. The time will come, I hope in the near fu- ; ture, when you will have cheese factories extending from here to Opotiki. The possibilities are very (great.” He hoped that if ever it was his pleasure to return to Poverty Bay, it would be to open a j cheese factory at Tahora. 1
