A RECORD YEAR. (Received 23, 9.15 a.m.) Sydney, Feb. 23. The births last year were 45,533, a record, the average being 27.32 per 1000 of population. The deaths were 16,190, the highest for three years. The phthisis death rate was the lowest on record, but cancer was slightly above the average. The marriages were, 14,294, a record. The year’s increase in population was 44,872.
