UNION CLUB. The Union Club intend holding a series of races during the vreek, [commencing to-morrow evening, [and continuing right through uni til Saturday. The races are arrangi ed as follows : —

By half way Cas i sidy had gained about three (lengths: but Stack now began to [ quicken up. and make a great finish [of it. Cas-idv passing the post first [by a haie length. Time. 6min 52sec.
Brown beat Cassidi easily in the final, the latter losing a lot of ground by not steeling a straight course. Time. 6mia 55scc.
The following are the results of some of the races in connection with the regatta and aquatic sports held at AVairoa on Thursday last :— Maiden Fours. 10 stone and under. 1 mile. - Napier Rowing Club: Brewer (stroke), Spriggs (3). Stack (21. Anderson (bow). 1 ; AA'airoa Boating Club: Foster (Stroke). Sparwath (3). Flint (2). Fowler (bow). 2.
Napier got the best of the start, but the two crews kept fairly well together for about 100 yards, when Napier drew away and were not headed, winning easily by two lengths. t Maiden Fours (Heavy-weight). I mile. —AA'airoa Boating Club: Ring (stroke) Johnson (3). Anderson (2). Nickalls (bow). 1 ; Napier Rowing Club. sam>' crew as in previous race. 2.
A good start was effected. biri Wairoa. rowing very well, won in the last 59 vards by half a length. The uwmbers of the Napier crew speak highly of the hospitable manner in which they were treated by the Wairoa ('lub and Wairoa people generally.
