An important sale of main street I property in Hastings .was transacted to-day. Mr. D. O'Reilly having | purchased the property known as the Premier Stables, having 40 feet frontage to Heretaunira street and 25 feet to King street. The sale was negotiated by Messrs. Av ellwood and Wellwood, of Hastings. Mr. R. Gardiner explained to the meeting of Havelock residents last evening that he had convened the meeting at the instance of Air. Alason Chambers, who was absent from the district. Although Air. Chambers had his own private : water supply, he was strongly in favour of taking advantage of the Hastings scheme. The booking for the Hastings Orichestral Society’s Concert this i evening, has been unusually heavy, i and the Society have every reason ; to feel pleased with the support ac- ■ corded their efforts by the music- | loving people of the community.
