APPEAL COURT.

[BY TBLSaEAPH.] Wellington, Monday, A Christohuroh case was before the Court of Appeal this afternoon, the appellant being the Christohuroh Tramway Company and the respondent John Eldred. Bespondent was engaged by the company in 1892 as oanvasser and collector in respect of advertisements on the tramways. On the termination of his engagement, in June of this year, he brought an aotion against the company for commission due, and recovered judgment for £101 2s lOd, being at the rate of 20 per cent on all moneys uncolleoted in respect of contracts for advertisements, whioh were running at the time. On appeal to the Supreme Court the judgment of the Magistrate was affirmed. The company contends, in effeot, that the judgment is opposed to the terms of the engagement. Mr Wilding appears fdr the appellant company and Mr stringer for the respondent. The argument is proceeding.
