The Political Labor League have decided to call a conference of the Labor parties of all the federating colonies to discuss the formation of a Federal Labor League to take steps to secure the representation of labor in the Federal Parliament. The conference will meet at Sydney about an eight-hour day. Melbourne, Friday. The Mount Lyell Mining Company's returns ix> August 23, inclusive, show that 21,314 tons of ore were treated, yielding : — Copper, 820 tons ; silver, 64,5200z ; gold, 23410z. The mine also treated 2237 tons of purchased ore.
