NEW SOOTH WALES POLITICS.
THE MOTION OF CENSURE. BeceWed September 1, 1 a.m. Sydney, Thursday. The no-confidence debate was complicated by an amendment specially censuring the Government for paying d 8350 to Major Neild, the member for Paddington, in connection with his old age pensions report. The Qualification Committee investigated the matter and found that while Major Neild's action wonld not have unseated him, the practice was contitutionally dangerous and Bhould be discontinued. Major Neild has repaid the money to the Treasury. Mr Copeland, a leading Protectionist, intended to support the Government because Mr Lyne, by not raising the fiscal issue, practically deserted Protection. He must, however, vote for the amendment. It is understood the Labor party has decided to support the Government.
