BRITISH POLITICS. .RETURN OP A CONSERVATIVE. EeceWea January 25, 11 a.m. London, January 24 Mr William Keswick, Conservative, has been elected to the seat for the Epsom Division of Surrey, rendered vacant by the appointment of Mr T. T. Bucknill, Bencher of the Inner Temple, the former holder of the seat, to be a Judge of the Queen's Bench. The Eight Hon. W..H. Long, President of the Board of Agriculture, has announced that it is the intention of the Government to deal comprehensively with the question of food adulteration. A bill dealing with the subject has been prepared, and will be introduced in the House of Commons as a Government measure. In connection with the elections under the Irish Local Government Act of last session, John Darby, an ex-Fenian and convicted dynamiter recently released from gaol before the completion of his sentence, has been elected Mayor of Limerick unopposed. Mr William Kedmond, Parnellite member of the House of Commons for the constituency of East Clare, was a candidate for the office of High Sheriff of Dublin, but was rejected.
